Don't forget that you MUST take the Athlete Protection Training  before you can be on deck, or registered with USAS for 2012.

It is free, it takes about an hour, and lasts for 2 years.

THERE IS NO GRACE PERIOD...YOU WILL NOT BE REGISTERED/ BE ALLOWED ON DECK as of JAN 1 unless this is done...and I'm suggesting that you do it now...do not wait ( see USAS email below)

HERE IS A reminder note regarding the Athlete Protection Training membership requirement. from USA Swimming...

We remain very concerned about a server overload in the last week or two of December trying to accommodate a large number of people.   We are now at just over 13,000 completed of the 30,000 total who will need to complete the course in order to renew for 2012.  That is 60% of our non-athlete membership that still needs to complete the course.  We have run the numbers on each LSC and only 7 LSCs have had more than 50% of their non-athlete membership completed. 

Please help me spread the word and continue to encourage your membership to complete the course.  It is required in order to renew for 2012.  It is free.  It takes one hour and once you have completed it, you have satisfied this requirement for two years.

Thanks for your help and support of the athlete protection program.  It is a community effort and I really appreciate your help!

Athlete Protection Training –New*******

• 502.6.1 All non-athlete members of USA Swimming must have satisfactorily completed criminal background checks and athlete protection education as required by USA Swimming.
• In order to renew for 2012, all non-athlete members will be required to complete an online athlete protection training course through Praesidium, Inc.
• You must be a (or have been in the past) a non-athlete member of USA Swimming and   entered in the SWIMS database before you can take the online course. (Register first.)

• The course is available online and accessed through the USA Swimming website. It will take about an hour to complete and is free of charge. Non-athlete members are required to complete this course every two years.
